The djinn appeared in the ''Dungeons & Dragons Basic Set'' (1977), the ''D&D Expert Set'' (1981, 1983), the ''Companion Rules'' set (1984), and the ''Dungeons & Dragons Rules Cyclopedia'' (1991).
